Job Title: K-12 Tutor / Test Prep Tutor

Location: Katy, TX, Sugar Land, TX, Richmond, TX

Duration: 3+ Months (Extendable)

JOB INSIGHT:

We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable K-12 Tutors / Test Prep Tutors to provide academic instruction and test preparation support to students. Tutors will work with students one-on-one or in small groups through learning centers and/or in-home tutoring assignments. The ideal candidate should have strong subject matter knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage students while helping them improve their academic performance and test scores.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring to K-12 students.
• Teach academic subjects based on student needs and tutor expertise.
• Help students improve their understanding of academic concepts and overall performance.
• Provide preparation for standardized tests such as SAT, ACT, and PSAT.
• Support students with AP-level coursework and subjects when applicable.
• Develop an engaging and supportive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic progress.
• Provide academic coaching, homework assistance, and learning support.
• Assist students with college admissions-related activities, including essay coaching or college counseling, when qualified.
• Maintain professionalism, reliability, and punctuality when working with students.
• Travel locally for in-home tutoring assignments when applicable.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of one or more academic subjects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with K-12 students.
• Strong student engagement and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide one-on-one and/or small-group instruction.
• Professional, dependable, and responsible approach to working with students.
• Ability to explain academic concepts clearly and effectively.
• Reliable transportation may be required for in-home tutoring assignments.

Experience

• Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred but not required for all positions.
• Classroom teaching, mentoring, coaching, or academic support experience is a plus.
• Experience with SAT, ACT, PSAT, AP subjects, college admissions, or essay coaching is preferred for applicable assignments.
• Opportunities may be suitable for college students, graduates, teachers, retired teachers, and experienced professionals with strong subject knowledge.
